ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COOPERATIVE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF SWIMMING POOL CHEMICALS
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize a Southeast Florida Cooperative contract with Commercial Energy Specialists, LLC. (CES) for the purchase and delivery of swimming pool chemicals for approximately $70,000 for FY 2025 and $124,000 for FY 2026.

EXPLANATION: The Parks and Recreation Department uses a variety of pool chemicals at the aquatics complex, including Pulsar Brand Briquette. The Pulsar Briquettes are required in order for the current pool chlorination system to operate with the parameters necessary to meet National Sanitary Foundation and American National Standards Institute requirements.
The City of Sunrise, acting as the lead agency for the Southeast Florida Co-Op, awarded contract # 23-05-12 HR to multiple vendors, including CES for the purchase and delivery of Pulsar Brand Briquettes. The second and final renewal option was approved for this contract which is effective March 26, 2025 through March 25, 2026 with a contract price of $169.16/pail, a price increase of $8.05/pail.
The anticipated fiscal impact of the new price is $1,610 for FY 2025 and $5,877 for FY 2026 (assuming 2 pails a day for the new aquatics complex and the price remains the same).
