A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE VISION ZERO ACTION PLAN TO ELIMINATE TRAFFIC-RELATED FATALITIES AND SERIOUS INJURIES WITH THE CITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

EXPLANATION: On July 12th, 2022, the Wellington Council adopted Resolution No. R2022-15 which supported the development of a Vision Zero Master Plan and established that the elimination of traffic fatalities and the reduction of serious injuries due to traffic accidents is a goal of the Village of Wellington.
The Vision Zero Master Plan evaluates ten years’ worth of crash data from the Village (2013-2022) identifying locations and causes of fatalities and serious injuries. The plan explains the goal of Vision Zero and its principles and provides recommendations in the form of strategies and actions in the Vision Zero Action Plan, which are the necessary steps needed to eliminate all crash-related fatalities.
