ITEM: RESOLUTION NO. R2016-75 (INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR COORDINATED SCHOOL PLANNING)
A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL, ADOPTING THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR COORDINATED PLANNING; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, COUNCILMEMBERS AND THE VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE SCHOOL BOARD OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, PALM BEACH COUNTY AND MUNICIPALITIES OF PALM BEACH COUNTY PROVIDING FOR COORDINATED SCHOOL PLANNING; DIRECTING THAT THE EXECUTED AGREEMENT BE PROVIDED TO THE SCHOOL BOARD OF PALM BEACH COUNTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of Resolution No. R2016-75 to authorize execution of the Interlocal Agreement between The School Board of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, and Municipalities of Palm Beach County for Coordinated Planning in order to comply with the Community Planning Act.

EXPLANATION: Resolution No. R2000-100, which approved the Palm Beach County Interlocal Agreement with Municipalities of Palm Beach County and The School District of Palm Beach County to Establish Public School Concurrency, has expired. Additionally, Florida legislation has changed related to school concurrency. A new interlocal agreement has been adopted by the county and school board for coordinated planning. The county would like to have all municipalities complete adoption before the end of calendar year 2016.
