EXPLANATION: The Peaceful Water Wetlands requires replacement of the wood decking. The Utility Department has established a three-phase approach over three (3) years to replace the wooden boardwalk. The new material will be an engineered planking that has a useful life of approximately twenty (20) years. Phase one of the project includes removal and replacement of approximately 196' of wood framed boardwalk super structure and railing. This project will also include the removal and replacement of approximately 85' of wood framed railing on existing concrete sidewalk.
On February 28, 2018, Wellington released ITB #008-18/MM on Demandstar, seeking qualified firms to provide such services. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington's website. On March 26, 2018, three (3) proposals were received.
