A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL TO ADOPT AN AGE-FRIENDLY ACTION PLAN TO SUPPORT THE AARP NETWORK OF AGE-FRIENDLY STATES AND COMMUNITIES MEMBERSHIP; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of Resolution No. R2026-27 adopting Wellington’s action plan to support Wellington’s AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities membership.

EXPLANATION: Wellington submitted an action plan to the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities in June 2026. The Village of Wellington joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network on January 28, 2025. The AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities helps local leaders meet the needs of their community's older adults and prepare for the rapid aging of the U.S. population. Through the age-friendly action plan, the Village of Wellington hopes to foster well-designed, age-friendly communities that support economic growth and make for happier, healthier residents of all ages.
