ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW A CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL AUDITING SERVICES

EXPLANATION: The Office of Financial Management and Budget (OFMB) utilizes a contract with CBIZ CPAs P.C. to provide annual auditing services. The services include examination of basic financial statements for Village of Wellington and ACME Improvement District and to ensure operations were performed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
On July 11, 2023, the contract was originally awarded to Marcum LLP pursuant to RFP #202317 Effective November 1, 2024, CBIZ CPAs P.C. acquired Marcum’s attest business and, in accordance with the terms of the agreement, the contract was assigned to and assumed by CBIZ CPAs P.C., with no change in scope, personnel, or service delivery.
The initial term of the contract expires on July 11, 2026 and provides for two additional one-year renewal options by mutual agreement.
The fee for these services for the September 30, 2026 audit will not exceed $90,750. In addition, depending on annual spending levels, the Village may be subject to additional federal and state single audit compliance at a cost of $8,000.
Staff recommends renewing the existing contract with CBIZ CPAs P.C. for an additional one-year term to provide auditing services for Fiscal Year 2026 in the amount of approximately $98,750.
