ITEM:                     AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW A CONTRACT WITH ZAMBELLI FIREWORKS MANUFACTURING CO. FOR THE ANNUAL JULY 4TH FIREWORKS DISPLAY

 

REQUEST:                     Authorization to renew a contract with Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co. for the annual July 4th fireworks display in the amount of $50,000.00.

EXPLANATION:                     On March 13, 2018, Council awarded ITB #002-18/AA to Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co., a non-local vendor, to provide the annual July 4th fireworks display.

 

The contract is set to expire on March 13, 2021 and allows for two (2) additional one (1) year renewal options.  Staff is requesting authorization to exercise the first renewal option through March 13, 2022 in the amount of $50,000.00. 

 

Due to COVID-19, staff has not made a final decision whether to host a typical July 4th event or if fireworks will be launched from one or two separate locations (10 acre site and Village Park).  

 

Prior year expenditures are $50,000.00.
