ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW AN EXISTING CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL LAB ANALYSES
REQUEST: Authorization to renew an existing contract for annual lab analyses with Pace Analytical Services, Inc. in the amount of approximately $45,000 annually.

EXPLANATION: In 2011, Council awarded contract #081-11/DZ to Pace Analytical Services, Inc. to provide specialized lab analyses for the Village’s Wastewater Reclamation Plant, Water Treatment Plant, and Surface Water Management. The services provided as part of this contract are required as part of our compliance with the Florida Department of Health, Department of Environmental Protection, and South Florida Water Management District regulations. The services provided, include analysis beyond the capabilities of our internal laboratory.
The initial term of the contract was for three (3) years, expiring on December 13, 2014, with a provision for two (2) additional one (1) year renewals. Staff is seeking authorization to exercise the second and final renewal option, effective through December 13, 2016, with no change in price.
