ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF 24 INCH PVC PIPE AND FITTINGS AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINING DEVICES

EXPLANATION: The existing fiberglass raw water main for the water treatment plant is old and susceptible to failures and requires replacement. The materials listed below will allow for the replacement of approximately 2,300 LF of existing fiberglass pipe (Phase I - Raw Water Main Replacement Project). Work is anticipated to start early March, once these materials are received, with completion in mid-May. The work will be performed by a combination of Wellington Utility and contracted crews. This work is part of the current, approved Capital Improvement Plan.
On December 14, 2014, Wellington released ITB #036-14/DZ on Demandstar. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington's website. On January 14, 2014, four (4) proposals were received.
