ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PIERSON ROAD SIDEWALK EXTENSION PROJECT
REQUEST: Authorization to award a contract to Wynn & Son Environmental Construction Co., Inc. for the sidewalk improvements on Pierson Road in the amount of $143,000.00.

EXPLANATION: This project provides for a sidewalk along Pierson Road between 120th Ave. and the entrance to Village Park. The new sidewalk will be 6 ft. wide and will be constructed along the south side of Pierson Road. This project is part of Wellington's approved 2015 Capital Improvement Plan. Plans for the project are included as Attachment #4.
On December 22, 2014, Wellington released ITB #034-14/DZ on Demandstar. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington's website. On January 14, 2014, five (5) proposals were received.

The amount budgeted for this project is $143,000, approximately $1,366 (0.95%) lower than the bid amount. Staff recommends awarding the contract to Wynn and Son Environmental Co., Inc. in the amount of $143,000.
