EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Keshavarz and Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Keshavarz and Associates, Inc., to provide engineering consulting services for the Sugar Pond Area Water and Wastewater Condition Assessment and Infrastructure Improvement Evaluation.
The Village owned water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure is nearing its useful life, in some of the older neighborhoods. The Utility Department is taking a proactive approach to the renewal and replacement of this infrastructure by conducting condition assessments in various neighborhoods, to prioritize needed investments. The results of this task order will include a condition assessment report that summarizes the findings, prioritizes the improvements, and estimates the costs to replace the existing water distribution system and rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system, within two area neighborhoods in Sugar Pond Manor.
Staff recommends awarding a task order to Keshavarz and Associates, Inc., to provide engineering consulting services for the Sugar Pond Area Water and Wastewater Condition Assessment and Infrastructure Improvement Evaluation, at a cost of $102,965.50.
