EXPLANATION: Each year the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA) sponsors the "Drop Savers" Water Conservation Poster Contest where students from kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to create a poster depicting a water conservation theme. The contest allows students to promote water awareness and the importance of water conservation in their daily routines.

In support of April being National Water Conservation Month, the Village of Wellington Utility Department desired to create a local Drop Savers contest. Students from Wellington elementary schools were invited to participate in the contest, which resulted in 13 posters being submitted. After judging the posters for message, creativity, and originality, posters submitted by Grace Bostwick - Division 2 and Lauren Allen - Division 3, both students at Panther Run Elementary School, were selected as first place winners in their designated divisions for the local contest.

The posters submitted by Grace Bostwick and Lauren Allen were sent to FSAWWA and were judged with submittals from other Florida Utilities. On April 12, 2017, FSAWWA announced the winners and Grace Bostwick was awarded Third Place in Division 2 in the State contest.
