EXPLANATION: In order to raise awareness in our community of the #1 killer of all Americans, heart disease and stroke, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association requested that the Village of Wellington present a Proclamation proclaiming May as “American Stroke Month” in the Village of Wellington. It is anticipated that Beth Mourelatos, the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Executive Director and Robbin Lee, Chairman of our local American Heart and American Stroke Association Board and CEO of Wellington Regional Medical Center will be present to accept the proclamation.
“America Stroke Month” is not currently on our Annual List of Proclamations, but will be added when the listing of Proclamations is presented to Council in August.
