EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. to provide hydraulic modeling services.

The Village desires to develop a hydraulic model of the wastewater transmission and pumping system to help assess system strengths and weaknesses in meeting existing customer demands and proposed development/re-development within the service area. The model will be linked to the Utility geographic information system (GIS) and will be continually updated as improvements are made to the system. A report will be prepared which documents the model results, identifies deficiencies and recommends improvements. It will also include a preliminary routing study and cost analysis for the replacement of the existing forcemain on South Shore Blvd from Forest Hill Blvd to Pierson Road. This forcemain is over 30 years old and is at or near its useful life.

Staff recommends awarding a task order to Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. to provide hydraulic modeling services for a Wastewater Transmission System at a cost of $182,598.00.
