EXPLANATION:  The Utility Department has six (6) above ground concrete water storage tanks, which assist in maintaining adequate pressure in the water distribution system. Florida Statutes require Public Water Systems to inspect water storage tanks every five (5) years and forward those inspections to the Palm Beach County Health Department. In May of 2017, Crom performed the inspections. The inspections revealed that all six (6) of the tanks are in good structural condition. However, four (4) of the tanks require limited repairs to the tank accessories including; hatches, ladders, water barriers and level indicators.  The inspection results have been provided to the Palm Beach County Health Department.

Pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Village’s Purchasing Manual, maintenance of equipment is exempt from competition when services are provided by the equipment manufacturer or manufacturer’s service representative; however, since expenditures exceed $25,000, Council approval is required.  Crom was the original builder of the storage tanks. Crom utilized their contract with the City of Deltona, as a basis for pricing.
