…body

EXPLANATION:  In accordance with the approved equipment schedules, staff is requesting authorization to purchase a trailer mounted trash pump, to be utilized within the Water Treatment Facility, to transfer water from the sludge lagoons during clean out and drain the concrete pond during routine maintenance.

The Florida Sheriffs Association provides a venue for all Florida vendors to propose prices for sale of their equipment. Award is made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Consequently, year after year, the lowest prices are found on the FSA and State of Florida contracts, from which multiple State and local government agencies make their purchases.

Staff researched and found similar pump configurations with multiple suppliers, such as Single Cylinder and Xylem, Inc.; however, the FSA contract provides the best overall value.
