ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A PALM BEACH COUNTY CONTRACT WITH WYNN & SONS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., FOR THE PIERSON ROAD ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize Palm Beach County contract #R2017-055 with Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., Inc., as a basis for pricing, for the Pierson Road roadway improvements in an amount not to exceed $29,920.00.

EXPLANATION: This project is part of the approved FY2017/2018 Capital Improvement Plan. The project will improve the roadway clear zone recovery area between Pierson Road and the associated bridle trail/three rail fence between Southfield Road and Santa Barbara Drive. The design and construction documents were completed “in-house” by the Engineering Department.
On January 23, 2018, Palm Beach County awarded contract #R2017-055 (Project #2017055) until January 22, 2019 and subsequently renewed the contract through January 22, 2020. The construction of this project is scheduled to begin in June 2018.
Staff recommends utilizing Palm Beach County contract #R2017-055, as a basis for pricing, with Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., Inc., a Western Communities local vendor, for the Pierson Road roadway improvements in an amount not to exceed $29,920.00.
