EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Mock Roos and Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Mock Roos and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the Water System Booster Stations Evaluation.

The Utility owns and operates two (2) remote booster stations. These pump stations are utilized to maintain distribution water quality and system pressure. Each pump station includes a 2 MG ground storage tank, an emergency generator, a sodium hypochlorite system, high service pumps and programmable logic controllers. Booster Station one (1) is located on Ousley Farms and was constructed in 1987. Booster Station two (2) is located on Lake Worth Road and was constructed in 1990. Due to the age of both booster stations, an engineering condition assessment is necessary to identify improvements and establish costs to meet ultimate system demands, and make needed renewal and replacement improvements. The deliverables will include a detailed engineering report, which will include opinions of cost. The report will be used to develop Capital Improvement needs and should be completed within six (6) months after a notice to proceed has been issued. Mock Roos is well qualified to perform this work.

Staff recommends awarding a task order to Mock Roos and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the Water System Booster Stations Evaluation at a cost of $29,992.00.
