EXPLANATION: Gaston “Gus” Ponce began his career with Wellington as a part time Recreation Assistant in September, 2017 with our Parks and Recreation Department. Gus has his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida (UCF). Because he began his career at the Village immediately prior to the onset of Hurricane Irma, he was assigned to debris cleanup following the storm. His efforts were recognized and he was promoted to a Maintenance Tech II in Environmental Services. Gus is a team player who works hard and always has a smile.
It is for these reasons and more that Gus is Wellington’s March 2018 Employee of the Month!
