EXPLANATION: In order to raise awareness in our community of the #1 killer of all Americans, heart disease and stroke, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association requested that the Village of Wellington present a Proclamation proclaiming May as “American Stroke Month” in the Village of Wellington. It is anticipated that Robbin Lee, Chairman of the local American Heart and American Stroke Association Board and CEO of Wellington Regional Medical Center, will be present to accept the proclamation.
The proclamation for “American Stroke Month” is currently listed on our Annual List of Proclamations; however, a request was made by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to accept the Proclamation at the Council Meeting.
