EXPLANATION: The project will eliminate a potential safety issue by raising the flow line (shallowing up the swale reducing angle of the side slopes) of the swale adjacent to the bridle trail. The construction includes clearing and grubbing of the existing swale area, adding additional fill material/top soil, final grading, sodding, maintenance of traffic, and adding riprap rubble at the downstream side of the driveway, at a cost of $210,445.53
On January 23, 2018, Palm Beach County awarded contract #R2018-0012 (Project #2017055) until January 23, 2019. The construction of this project is scheduled to begin in May 2018.
Staff recommends utilizing Palm Beach County contract #R2018-0012, as a basis for pricing, with Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., Inc., a Western Communities local vendor, for the Saddle Trail South Drainage Improvements at a cost of $210,445.53.
