EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED) to multiple vendors. Keshavarz and Associates, Inc. was selected as one of the Village's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Keshavarz and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for a water and sewer condition assessment and infrastructure evaluation for the Eastwood Subdivision.
The Village owned water and wastewater collection infrastructure is nearing its useful life, in some of the older neighborhoods. The Utility Department is taking a proactive approach to the renewal and replacement of this infrastructure by conducting condition assessments in various neighborhoods, to prioritize needed investments. The results of this task order will include a condition assessment report that summarizes the findings, prioritizes the improvements, and estimates the cost to replace the existing water distribution system and rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system within the Eastwood Subdivision. Keshavarz recently completed two (2) condition assessments in neighborhoods within Sugar Pond Manor and the South East Lake Wellington area and provided an excellent work product. It is estimated that the final report will be complete within six to eight months of receipt of a Notice to Proceed.
