ITEM: RESOLUTION NO. R2018-64 (FDOT HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT)
A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA'S COUNCIL APPROVING THE HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON AND STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FINANCIAL PROJECT ID 436307-1, A PORTION OF WHICH INCLUDES FOREST HILL BOULEVARD; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of Resolution No. R2018-64 authorizing the Mayor or Vice Mayor and Village Clerk to execute the Highway Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation in the form attached as Exhibit A.

EXPLANATION: The Village of Wellington ("Wellington") has jurisdiction over Forest Hill Boulevard, as part of the Village Roadway System, from the south right-of-way line of the SFWMD Canal C-51 south to Quercus Court (the project limits).
The State of Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") is authorized to undertake projects within Wellington's geographical limits and Wellington is desirous of having this improvement constructed.
FDOT and Wellington agree to have FDOT construct certain improvements more particularly described as Financial Project ID 436307-1 ("Project"), a portion of which includes Forest Hill Boulevard (Attachment 1 - Highway Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement, Exhibit A - Wellington Portion of the Project).
FDOT cannot spend state funds for Off-system projects and therefore will acquire the necessary right-of-way, if needed, and then FDOT will proceed to construct the Wellington Portion of the Project.
