A RESOLUTION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF APPROVED EXTERIOR WALL COLORS, TRIM COLORS, ACCENT COLORS, FRONT DOOR AND GARAGE DOOR COLORS, FENCE COLORS AND DRIVEWAY COLORS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

SUMMARY: The Architectural Review Board, pursuant to Section 2-311 of Wellington’s Code of Ordinances, is tasked with adopting a schedule of approved exterior colors for walls, trim, accents, front door, garage doors, fences and driveways Village-wide. The ARB shall adopt the schedule by Resolution.
Since the last formal adoption in 2014, there have been additions to the color chart at ARB meeting(s) based on repeat requests for the same color(s). The attached resolution is simply to formalize those additions in accordance with the Village Ordinance regarding procedures for adopting a color chart. Additionally, it was determined by the Village Attorney that if a resident requests approval for a color that is not on the color chart and the ARB reviews and approves/denies a color for an individual request, this may considered a permit and would conflict with Florida Statutes. Therefore, in the event a property owner(s) desires to paint their home a color that is currently not on the color chart, the property owner would have the option to request a modification to the Village-wide color chart and the property owner(s) shall complete an application and submit all required information for consideration by the Architectural Review Board. Paint colors will no longer be approved on a case-by-case basis.
