EXPLANATION:  The purpose of this proposed Ordinance is to create a definition of nightclub, distinguish them from restaurants and cocktail lounges and to establish rules for their existence and operation.

 

The genesis of this proposed Ordinance is the Village’s desire and continuing efforts to prevent/deter adverse impacts on surrounding neighborhoods and other issues experienced in the community related to events and facilities that will fall into this land use category.

 

The proposed Ordinance would amend Article 3 (definitions), Article 6, Table 6.4-1 (Use Regulation Schedule), Table 6.8-2 (Planned Development District Use and Regulation Schedule), ant Table C (EOZD Permitted, Conditional and Prohibited Uses) and amend Section 6.4.4 (Supplementary Use Standards) of the Land Development Regulations Related to Uses and Regulate the location of nightclub businesses and create operation standards and requirements.

 

Staff is seeking the review and recommendation of the Equestrian Preserve Committee for the adoption of the proposed Ordinance.
