ITEM:  AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW EXISTING CONTRACTS FOR DISASTER DEBRIS RECOVERY SERVICES

REQUEST:  Authorization to renew existing contracts with a primary (TAG Grinding Services) and secondary (DRC Emergency Services) vendor for disaster debris recovery services.

…body

EXPLANATION:  In preparation for hurricane season, staff is seeking authorization to renew existing contracts for disaster debris recovery services.

On May 22, 2018, Council awarded RFP #012-16/DZ to TAG Grinding Services, as the primary awardee and to DRC Emergency Services and Ashbritt, Inc. as the secondary awardees, effective through May 24, 2019.

Staff is requesting authorization to renew existing contracts with TAG Grinding Services, as the primary awardee and DRC Emergency Services as the secondary awardee, effective through May 24, 2020, with no price increases.  Ashbritt, Inc. has declined to renew their contract.

The unit price contracts will be stand-by contracts activated by the Village only in the event of an emergency.  No compensation will be paid to awarded vendors unless a “Notice to Proceed” is issued.

In addition, on May 22, 2018, Council also authorized the Village to utilize Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County vendors for disaster recovery services, in the event the Village’s awarded vendors are not available during an event.
