REQUEST:                     Council consideration of the Village Attorney’s Employment Agreement.

EXPLANATION:                     Council appointed Vice Mayor Napoleone to negotiate the Village Attorney’s Employment Agreement with Ms. Cohen.  The current employment agreement expires on April 29, 2019.  Attached is a copy of the negotiated contract for Council’s review.

The changes included are as follows:

Term:                                                                                      Three (3) years

Deferred Compensation:                       Three percent (3%) annual contribution paid by the Village

LEGAL SUFFICIENCY:                     YES

FISCAL IMPACT:                     The potential annual fiscal impact is approximately $5,898 with a three percent (3%) deferred compensation contribution based on the current base salary, net of applicable taxes.  The contribution will be paid in the same manner as paid to employees who elect to participate in the deferred compensation program.
