EXPLANATION: Public Works requests authorization to award a contract for the repairs and inspection of two pumps at Pump Station No. 9, located at 6090 140th Avenue. The scope of work includes, inspecting the pumps, installation of new seals, replacement of bearings, balancing the impeller, sand blasting, painting with epoxy coating, and reinstalling the pumps.
FPI Pumps, Inc., is the original manufacturer of the pumps and, pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, such service is exempt from competition. Total expenditures for the project exceed $25,000, and requires Council approval.
Staff recommends awarding a contract to FPI Pumps, Inc., in the amount of $44,308.00, for the repairs and inspection of Pump Station No. 9.
