A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION FLORIDA BOATING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE TOWN CENTER PROJECT AND PROVIDING FOR ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THEREOF, PROVIDING THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of Resolution No. R2019-22 authorizing the Village of Wellington to file a grant application with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Florida Boating Improvement Program for the Town Center Project.

EXPLANATION: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) provides grants for boating access projects and other boating-related activities on coastal and/or inland waters of Florida. The boardwalk project within Town Center includes new fishing piers and docks and other local boating-related activities that enhance boating access for recreational boaters. The maximum grant award is $200,000 with a five percent (5%) match required.

FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact until the grant is awarded. If successful, a budget amendment will be submitted along with the grant agreement to increase the capital fund revenues and expenditures by $200,000 for the grant proceeds.
