EXPLANATION:  Annually the Village Council recognizes those Public Safety personnel that have been nominated as Wellington’s Top Cop and Top Firefighter.

For 2019, both Captain Silva of the Wellington District 8 Sheriff’s Office and Battalion Chief William Rowley of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue nominated their respective candidates for this award.  Captain Silva’s nominations included Deputy Sheriff Jennifer Baker, Deputy Sheriff Ricardo Cordero and Deputy Sheriff Ashley Carseni.  Chief Rowley’s nominations included Captain Craig Dube, Driver Operator Andrew Moreira and Captain David Prill.

These nominations were presented to the Public Safety Committee for consideration at the June 26th regular meeting, at which time the Committee made their recommendations. The Committee recommended Deputy Sheriff Jennifer Baker Wellington’s Top Cop for 2019 and Captain David Prill Wellington’s Top Firefighter for 2019. This year’s candidates are in attendance to accept their awards.
