A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK TO EXECUTE THE FIFTH ADDENDUM TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

EXPLANATION: The current Addendum to the Contract with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was approved on August 28, 2018 and is due to expire on September 30, 2019.
In May 2019, correspondence was received from PBSO indicating that a contract increase of 2% would be forthcoming for the 2019/2020 fiscal year. Additionally, the proposed level of service would include the addition of one (1) Deputy Sheriff and one (1) Community Service Aide.
Subsequently, in accordance with Wellington’s Law Enforcement Services Agreement (LESA) with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff has submitted a proposal in the form of the Fifth Addendum to the Law Enforcement Service Agreement for FY2020 (attached). The proposal includes the increase of approximately 2% for the FY2020 budget year, or approximately $190,832.04 over the previous year, as well as staffing changes, which reflect an increase of approximately $264,925.96. The proposed contract totals $9,997,360.00, a total increase of $455,758.00, over FY19.
