EXPLANATION: Staff is seeking authorization to:
1) Renew an existing contract with K&B Maintenance Services, LLC, DBA Professional Tennis Court Services, to provide court maintenance at the tennis facility in the amount of $92,327.64 annually.
On September 27, 2016, Council awarded a contract to Professional Tennis Court Services, to provide court maintenance at the Wellington Tennis Facility. The initial term of the agreement was for three (3) years with two (2) additional one-year renewal options. Staff is requesting authorization to exercise the first renewal option effective through September 26, 2020, with no price increases.
Professional Tennis Court Services has provided superior maintenance services throughout the initial term of the agreement.
2) Enter into nine (9) separate independent contractor agreements with tennis professionals to provide private lessons, conduct clinics, tennis summer camps, etc. The existing agreements are set to expire on September 30, 2019. The tennis center currently employs these professionals to provide such services. In order to maintain continuity of service, staff is recommending entering into independent contractor agreements with the existing nine tennis professionals (list of names attached), who currently provide this service at the facility. The term of the agreements are for three (3) years effective October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2022.
These agreements exceed $25,000 in revenue, annually; therefore, pursuant to Purchasing policies and procedures, Council approval is required.
