ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD MULTIPLE CONTRACTS FOR UTILITY PROCESS CONTROL ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

EXPLANATION: The Utilities Department utilizes a system of Process Logic Computers (PLCs) and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) to operate, monitor, and manage raw water supply wells, the water treatment plant, remote water booster stations, sanitary lift stations, the water reclamation facility and the reuse distribution system. These systems monitor, gather, process real time data, and directly interact with devices such as sensors, valves, pumps and motors. These systems are crucial to maintaining efficiency, processing data for decision-making and communicating system issues to minimize downtime.
On June 20, 2019, the Village released ITB #201913 for Utility Process Control Annual Maintenance services seeking qualified vendors to provide these services. On July 24, 2019, the Village received two (2) proposals meeting the required specifications. The Utilities Department is requesting authorization to award contracts to Process Control Consultants, Inc., a Western Community local vendor and CC Control Corp., a Palm Beach County local vendor.
The Utilities Department will distribute the work on a project-by-project and emergency basis. Hourly rates are summarized on Exhibit A attached.
The initial term of the contract is for one (1) year from date of award with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods.
