EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington’s engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the Lift Station Phase II Design.
The Utility has commenced a comprehensive lift station rehabilitation program to extend the useful life and increase reliability of the existing 105 lift stations. The improvements are prioritized based on the recommendations contained in the Waste Water Lift Station Comprehensive Condition Assessment that was completed in February of 2018. Phase 1, which includes six (6) stations is currently under construction. This Work Authorization provides for the design of the Phase II improvements which includes Lift Stations 10, 48, 76, and 79. The opinion of construction cost for Phase II is approximately $1.8 Million. The design and construction are included in the approved FY 19 and FY 20 Utility Capital Improvement Plan. Mock Roos performed the previous Condition Assessment and the Phase I design and is well qualified to perform the Phase II work.
Staff recommends awarding a task order to Mock, Roos and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the Lift Station Phase II Design at a cost of $118,912.00.
