ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF TWO FIXED EMERGENCY POWER GENERATORS

EXPLANATION: The Utility’s Lift Station Rehabilitation Phase 1 Project is currently under construction. The construction contract includes the installation of Village furnished fixed emergency power generators for Lift Stations 5 and 85. The Contract with Tradewinds Power Corp will be utilized to meet this requirement. Funds for this purchase are in the approved Utility Capital Budget.
Tradewinds Power Corp was awarded FSA contract #19-VEH17.0 for the purchase and delivery of such equipment. The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) provides a venue for all Florida vendors to propose prices for the sale of equipment. Award is made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Consequently, year after year, the lowest equipment prices are found on FSA contracts, from which multiple state and local government agencies make their purchases.
