EXPLANATION:                     In an effort to standardize the Village’s irrigation system and reduce costs, Hoover pumps have been installed in parks and roadway medians throughout the Village.

The Public Works Department is seeking authorization to award a two (2) year contract to Hoover Pumping Systems for preventative maintenance on eight (8) stations located in parks and roadway medians throughout the Village, at a cost of $28,735.60.

Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, maintenance service of equipment installed by the equipment manufacturer is exempt from competition; however, since total expenditures exceed $25,000, Council approval is required.

Staff recommends awarding a contract to Hoover Pumping Systems for maintenance of eight (8) existing pumps Village-wide, for two (2) years, effective through December 31, 2021 at a cost of $28,735.60.
