EXPLANATION: On August 8, 2017, Council awarded an engineering services contract (004-17/DZ) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Hillers Electrical Engineering, Inc. was selected as one of the Village’s engineering service providers.
The Village desires to acquire as-built documentation of the existing fiber optic communications system presently in place from the existing Membrane Plant 1 control room to existing Wells R4, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10. The purpose of the as-built documentation is for the Utility to use in troubleshooting communication failures from the plant control room to each well. This fiber optic system is the only means of communicating with these remote facilities, which are critical to the uninterrupted operation of the Membrane Plants.
Staff recommends awarding a task order to Hillers Electrical Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the RO Wells R4, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 Fiber Optic System As-Built in the amount of $33,460.00.
