ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH CONTRACT, AS A BASIS FOR PRICING, FOR SUPPLEMENTAL LABOR AT THE WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize a City of West Palm Beach contract, as a basis for pricing, for supplemental labor in the Utility Department for approximately $60,000 annually.

EXPLANATION: The Utility Department is seeking authorization to utilize U.S. Water Services Corporation to supplement existing staff. This contract will be used primarily to supplement Water Plant and Wastewater Plant Operators including the Chief, in emergency situations (natural disaster, pandemic, etc.) and in those situations where one or more operator is out on extended leave. It can also be used to supplement personnel in the Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Plant Maintenance Divisions.
On June 6, 2017, the City of West Palm Beach executed contract No. 19260 effective through June 5, 2020. The Agreement may be renewed for two (2) additional one (1) year terms upon the execution of a written contract amendment.
Staff recommends utilizing the City of West Palm Beach executed contract No. 19260, as a
basis for pricing with U.S. Water Services Corporation for approximately $60,000 annually.
