REQUEST:                     Authorization to utilize an annual public works contract with D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation for the replacement/addition of a culvert, at a cost of $66,240.00.

EXPLANATION:                     The Public Works Department is seeking authorization to utilize an annual Public Works contract (007-15/DZ), previously approved by Council on July 14, 2015, with D.S. Eakins for a culvert replacement/addition at the C-24C and C-2 Canals:

 

This project includes the removal of the existing pipe and control structure and installing an 80 LF of 72” CAP pipe just north of Palm Beach Point Blvd. This major culvert crossing project will improve the drainage in Basin B.

 

Staff is seeking authorization to utilize D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation, under their existing approved contract for the project cost of $66,240.00. Public Works will be supplying the pipe material and D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation will be utilizing the existing contract for the removal and replacement of the pipe structure.
