ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF ONE PORTABLE EMERGENCY POWER GENERATOR
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) contract FSA #19-VEH17.0, as basis for pricing, for the purchase and delivery of one (1) portable emergency power generator, from Tradeswinds Power Corp., in the amount of $65,814.00.

EXPLANATION: This generator shall serve as a temporary power supply for use by the Public Works Department. The primary uses for this system will be for emergency power for the Tennis Center irrigation system in order to maintain the Har-Tru courts and related subsurface irrigation system in the event of power loss for an extended period of time as well as for Village events requiring generator power for event support services and amenities.
Tradewinds Power Corp. was awarded FSA contract #19-VEH17.0 for the purchase and delivery of such equipment. The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) provides a venue for all Florida vendors to propose prices for the sale of equipment. Award is made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Consequently, year after year, the lowest equipment prices are found on FSA contracts, from which multiple state and local government agencies make their purchases.
Funds are budgeted in the FY 2020 Aquatic and Sport Facilities Fixed Asset Budget for this purchase.
