EXPLANATION: As a continuation of the Comprehensive Plan update, attached is the draft Equestrian Element. If recommended for approval by EPC, this element will then move on to the Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board (PZAB) hearing for recommendations, prior to being brought to Council.
This first draft of the Equestrian Element includes notes regarding whether it is a revision to an existing goal, objective, or policy (GOP) or a new GOP. This element also addresses the Village Charter, which establishes the directive to preserve and protect our neighborhoods as a guiding principle of governance. This element highlights this principle while acknowledging the constraints of the State Statutes, which eliminates local regulation of non-residential farm buildings. The element also includes goals to establish a comprehensive multi-modal transportation network, and support for the equestrian competition industry.
