EXPLANATION: On August 8, 2017, Council awarded an engineering contract (004-17/DZ) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. was selected as one of the Village's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. to provide engineering consulting services for the Water Reclamation Facility Anaerobic Selector Design.
As part of the recently completed Master Plan for the Water Reclamation Facility, it was determined that treatment improvements were a critical goal to support the operation of the WRF within allowable permit constraints. The installation of a concrete anaerobic selector tank was identified as the preferred method. This Task Order will include the design and permitting of the selector tank and a manual headworks screening structure which is needed when the headworks is bypassed for maintenance. The opinion of probable construction cost is $1.9 Million. Funding for the design and construction of the project is in the approved FY 21 Utility Capital Budget.
Staff recommends a task order to Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. to provide engineering consulting services for the Water Reclamation Facility Anaerobic Selector Design at a cost of $196,803.00.
