ITEM:                     AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD CONTRACTS FOR HARDWOOD TREE PRUNING VILLAGE-WIDE 

 

REQUEST:                     Authorization to award a hardwood tree pruning Village-wide contract in the amount of approximately $40,000.00 annually.

EXPLANATION:                     The Public Works Department is seeking authorization to award a hardwood tree pruning Village-wide contract to multiple vendors. The contract will be utilized for a variety of tree care, in order to maintain beautiful, healthy trees, which enhance the quality of life for the residents.

 

On August 17, 2020, Wellington released ITB #202032, seeking qualified vendors to provide such services on Demandstar. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington’s website. On September 15, 2020, five (5) proposals were received. Staff recommends awarding primary and secondary contracts as summarized below:

Both vendors represent the lowest responsive, responsible bidders (see attached pricing summary). The secondary vendor will be utilized only in the event the primary vendor cannot provide the required services.

 

The initial term of the contract is for three (3) years from the date of award with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
