ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW EXISTING CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF FERTILIZERS AND CHEMICALS USED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
REQUEST: Authorization to renew an existing contract with multiple vendors for the purchase and delivery of chemicals used by the Public Works Department, in the amount of $140,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021.

EXPLANATION: On September 15, 2019, Wellington released Bid #201918 for the purchase and delivery of public works chemicals. On October 9, 2019, three (3) proposals meeting the required specification were received, and staff awarded all three (3) vendors, (Howard Fertilizer and Chemicals, Helena Agricultural Enterprises, LLC, and Site One Landscape Supply, LLC) on a primary and secondary basis, for each product as summarized in Exhibit A.
Staff is seeking authorization to exercise the first renewal option, with minor price increases, through December 8, 2021 with all three (3) vendors, (Howard Fertilizer and Chemicals, Helena Agricultural Enterprises, LLC, and Site One Landscape Supply, LLC), for the purchase and delivery of public works chemicals, in the amount of approximately $140,000.00 annually. The financial impact of the minor price increases amounts to approximately $1,500.00 annually.
In the event the product is not available from the primary vendor, the product will be purchased from the secondary awardee.
