ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A CLAY COUNTY CONTRACT FOR THE TOWN CENTER PLAYGROUND PROJECT
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize a Clay Country contract with REP Services, Inc., as a basis for pricing, to furnish, deliver and install the Town Center Playground Project in the amount of $146,789.81.

EXPLANATION: Resolution No. R2019-72 provided for a Land and Water Conservation (LWCF) grant for the Town Center Boardwalk project. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) administers the LWCF grant for outdoor recreation and conservation lands purposes. The Town Center Promenade project includes the new boardwalk, picnic area, boating facilities, waterfront access as well as other outdoor amenities, all qualified for the grant funds under this LWCF program. The FDEP awarded the Village $190,000 in grant funding for the Town Center Boardwalk project to match Wellington's investment in this project. The $190,000 in grant monies will be utilized towards the building of the promenade/boardwalk ($90,000); playground ($50,000); trail/pathway ($30,000); and a picnic area with a shade structure ($20,000).
The Engineering Department is seeking authorization to utilize a Clay County contract with REP Services, Inc., to furnish, deliver and install the Town Center Playground Project.
On May 28, 2019, Clay County awarded a contract RFP No. 18/19-2 to multiple companies to provide various equipment and amenities for parks and playgrounds through May 27, 2022. The RFP provides a percentage discount off manufacturer retail prices.
Staff recommends utilizing a Clay County contract #18/19-2, as a basis for pricing with REP Services, Inc., to furnish, deliver and install the Town Center Playground Project in the amount of $146,789.81.
