ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE A GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE (GMP) AMENDMENT FOR THE REHABILITATION OF VILLAGE PARK FIELDS 6 & 7

EXPLANATION: Pursuant to RFQ# 202010, on May 12, 2020, the Village Council awarded a continuing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract to Burkhardt Construction, Inc.
Staff is seeking authorization to issue work authorization, providing a Guaranteed Maximum Price, for the rehabilitation of Fields 6 & 7 (multipurpose fields) located at Village Park. The scope of work includes a new field drainage system, irrigation system, and field turf.
The cost of the project is $1,796,385.63, including a contingency of $100,000. The budgeted amount for the project (which also includes Field 21) is $3.3 million. Fields 6 and 7 will be partially funded by a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant in the amount of $400,000. We anticipate completion of the LWCF grant documentation in November 2020. Construction of fields 6 and 7 cannot begin until the grant agreement is fully executed.
Staff recommends executing an amendment, with Burkhardt Construction, Inc., for the rehabilitation of Village Park Field 6 & 7, at a cost of $1,796,385.63.
