...body
EXPLANATION: The Big Blue Trace Multiuse Trail project consists of the widening of the existing asphalt multiuse pathway along the east side of Big Blue Trace. The project, which is approximately 1.34 miles in length, runs from South Shore Boulevard on the south to Wellington Trace on the north. The project also includes intersection/crosswalk improvements and drainage modifications.

In 2019, the Big Blue Trace Multiuse Trail project received favorable consideration by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for inclusion in its Local Agency Program (LAP) list of projects eligible for reimbursement. Construction is expected to begin in January 2021. The estimate cost for the project was $831,489.00 with 70% of the cost coming from an FDOT grant. The final bid was below the original estimate and FDOT will reimburse 70% of the final eligible bid costs or $495,747.00. The Village's financial contribution to the project amounts to approximately $212,463.

On September 6, 2020, Wellington released ITB 202037 on Demandstar, seeking qualified firms to provide such services. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington's website. On October 7, 2020, six (6) proposals were received.
