ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A TASK ORDER TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE C-8 FORCEMAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

EXPLANATION: On January 12, 2016, Council awarded an engineering services contract (011-15/ED to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington's engineering services providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. to provide the C-8 Forcemain Replacement project.
The Village Royale Master Development, located at the south west corner of SR 441 and Southern Blvd. is located in the Village of Royal Palm Beach with water and wastewater utility services being provided by Wellington's Utility. This area was previously developed as large residential lots. Due to the intensity of the new development, upgrades to the existing forcemain system is required to handle projected demands. This Task Order will facilitate the design of a replacement forcemain in the C-8 Canal right-of-way from the terminus of the recently constructed 16" forcemain by Village Royale near the C-28 Canal to Lift Station 92. The Utility will fund the design and construction and will be refunded by parcel developers on a pro rata basis when the Water and Sewer Developer Agreements are executed. This project is in the approved Utility FY 21 Capital Improvement Budget.
Staff recommends awarding a task order to Mock, Roos, & Associates, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the C-8 Forcemain Replacement Project at a cost of $53,826.00.
