EXPLANATION:                     The Utility has approximately 21,000 water meters in service. The standard life cycle of meter components vary between 10 and 20 years. Where there are multiple meter components that require replacement, it is more cost effective to use a contractor for the work.  It is the Utility’s goal to maximize the life cycle of each meter by evaluating its performance against manufacturer specifications before replacement.

The City of Boynton Beach awarded contact #021-821-18IT to Line Tec, Inc. for water service installations and restoration services. Boynton Beach exercised the second renewal option through August 6, 2021 with no price increases. The contract allows for two (2) additional one (1) year renewals.
