EXPLANATION: The Village of Wellington has been recognized by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association with the 2020 Outstanding Water Distribution System, Division 4 First Place Award.
This is a tremendous honor from the most respected professional water utility organization in Florida. This recognition is the culmination of four years of hard work across many divisions in the Utility including the Water Plant, Regulatory Compliance, Utility Administration and Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Technology Services, and Field Service. The award evaluates seven key areas including water quality, operations records, maintenance, professionalism, safety, emergency preparedness, and cross connection control program. It recognizes the many new programs we have put in place as well. A representative from the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association will be present at the March 9, 2021 Council Meeting to acknowledge the Village’s tremendous accomplishment.
